Originally, we though that he perfect audience for our thriller sequence would be young male adults aged 15-20. The audience have to be a certain age due to the strong language and scenes of violence. This is represented through scenes we have created when the victim is shown as a young adult female (in her mid-20s) who is a business woman.
My thriller sequence also represents the social group of people that like to watch thriller movies. I have achieved that through using diegetic and non-diegetic sounds often used in thriller movies. I have researched what people who watch thriller movies like to see when watching them and tried and include them in my thriller sequence, for example; dark setting of the scene.
Through our research, in which we questioned an equal number of male and female filmgoers, four of the female audience members said they did not enjoy thriller films. This has proved our initial assumption.
If we have interviewed more people aged 21-30 we reckon this age group would have bigger audience due to how much income these people earn.
This is our target audience. The reason people like thriller films is because they enjoy the twists and turns and they like them to be tense also people enjoy trying to guess the ending. On average they earn up to 800 pounds a month so this means we will competing for their money as there are many other activities that they may choose over the cinema, so this why our opening has to be gripping.
